|Rescue Me ID: 15-10-08-00549Higgins (male)|
This is Higgins. He is a 1 1/2 year old cavachon (cavalier king charles and bichon). He is about 25 pounds. He doesn't shed so he is great for people with allergies. He is crate trained, uses a doggy door. potty trained and is a pretty good listener. Unfortunately he plays too rough with young children (we have 3). We feel he would do much better in a home with no children and perhaps another dog his size. He would also be a great 'only child' to someone who is home most of the time. He's a little shy with other people but once he warms up he is very loving and snuggly. He loves to play ball and run outside.

|Rescue Me ID: 15-10-05-00054Houdini (male)|
This sweet boy is Houdini. We named him that because (sadly) his last foster home didn't have an escape proof yard. They loved him, but having him show up at the neighbors every day was getting difficult with a new baby in the house too. Anyway, he is now in a new foster home with block walls enclosing the yard so he can enjoy the outdoors without any worry. Houdini loves children, adults and other dogs. He is VERY obedient and goes immediately to his crate when told to. He also loves to receive affection. :) If you are interested in meeting him, please contact his foster mom, Angie. She can be reached at 909-709-4494.

Charlie is sweet and also very loving. He gets along well with other dogs and tends to be a follower. He is also a lap dog and loves to go for walks. He is good with older kids. He has been in a home with a 9 year old. He is playful and is good company. He has spent his life with his mate Dennis - also posted on this site. |Rescue Me ID: 15-08-26-00707Lascala (female)|
Hi all! My name is Lascala. Foster mom rescued me from a nightmare of a life. See I wandered into a nice ladies yard, out in the desert of San Bernardino county. It was like 104 degrees that day and I was really thirsty and hungry. The lady poured water on me from a hose because... well I don't know why but maybe she thought I was too hot. She couldn't take me in her house though because her roommate said I was too dirty, which was a true story. No one had given me a bath or even brushed me for what seemed like forever. I had all of these prickly thorns, leaves, twigs stuck inside my fur, not to mention hundreds of ouchie bugs sucking my blood and jumping all over me. I could barely even see anything behind all that hair that covered my eyes. I was in a lot of pain too. Anyway she had to put me in her shed and I guess she started looking for someone to take me and help me. That's when foster mom's rescue was contacted and she came to pick me up for good. I was a little shy because I didn't want her to see me in the shape I was in, but she told me everything was going to be okay and I believed her. I smiled on the hour drive back to my new home. I felt safe.... Coming to this new place of a home was scary and I was pooped. Let's just say it took foster mom over four hours to free me of all the bugs and hair. I admit that I had never been groomed so when I heard the buzzing machines and saw the brushes and all those tools, I wanted to run away and hide! I closed my eyes and tried to think of happy dreams and when I opened my eyes, I was clean, for once. I couldn't believe it. Brand new me. Mommy was really concerned because, well I think I forgot to mention this, but I was a mom too at one point. No one knows where my kids are or what happened to them, not even me... I was so confused when the other lady found me that I never found my way back to them. Mommy asked the lady to look in the neighborhood, ask around with no luck. I was full of milk with no babies to feed. I heard her on the phone saying 'I'm going to try to look for her owners. Maybe she was stolen and has been on the street for a long time. There is also a possibility of escaping or being thrown out of a backyard breeding situation.' I wish I could tell you guys what I've been through... Mommy took me to the vet and this is what the doctor said: that I'm very young (about 1 years old), some kind of a mini poodle mix, 12 pounds, and of course that I'm lucky. They gave me a bunch of shots (bordetella, rabies, parvo/distemper shots). Antibiotic shot and pills to take home for my skin. Mommy was also told to put a heating pad on my nipples twice a day to help with any discomfort until my milk dries out. They also had me poop and took a sample to make sure everything was okay. It was very very very scary to be at the hospital, but I kept calm and was told that I was very well behaved... Well at least when I wasn't barking at the cat in the lobby. Here is some more information about me: I love love love food and all types of treats. I'm a really fast learner and try to please. When I first came to this house I was afraid to be left alone but then mommy showed me that she was coming back and so it wasn't a big deal anymore. It took me like three days to get over this separation anxiety I was told I had. I really love toys - to throw them around and entertain myself mostly. I also like to roll around and play in blankets. As far as other doggy friends go, I was very shy to meet new ones here, but it took me only a couple of days and now all I want is to play and run around with them! I have tons of energy. Let's see, what else.... I love to go to the park and on little walks. I'm good on a leash and I'm the type of dog that likes to feel secure, so I'm always by the human leg and if we stop I sit really really close to foster moms leg, or hide behind her for protection. I like to meet new people and give them lots of kisses so that they know I'm a nice girl. At home, I'm a lap sitting, kissing machine. I like to kiss toes, I like to kiss cheeks and hands and you know... I really like to show affection. Mommy says I don't have a mean bone in my body. She also keeps asking me what kind of a monster would do me wrong. I wish I knew the answer. I'm just happy to be here. With that said I know mommy is only a foster mommy which means she is only here to help me as a stepping stone to a better life. She is hoping to find me the best forever home she can where I'll be loved and cared for. I know she is trying to do what's best because I know there are more doggies out there like me that need her help. Her and I think that I would be a great addition to any family that's willing to commit to make me a part of their lives. If you are interested in meeting me (you won't regret it) or have any questions about me please call/text her at (818)270-8082. Serious people only! Don't forget to check out my video either! |Rescue Me ID: 15-03-05-00057PICKLES (male)|
Attention! Mr. PICKLES Here! I am a cute, male, neutered microchipped Bichon Poodle about 9 to 10 years old, weight about 14 lbs, looking for my forever loving home. I am gentle and loving, good with most dogs, adults. I would love a quiet relaxed home, perhaps with another companion elder like myself and would be more comfortable without small children. I am a special needs dog because I am deaf and have been evaluated with a grade 3 to 4 heart murmur, nothing that really bugs me right now, as long as environment and family is kind of stress less. Best fit for me is a family or adopter who will take me for walks and lives a pleasant lifestyle, according to my needs but not a busy one. I would fit perfect for older people young at heart with an older canine companion too, you just need to share belly rubs equal to each of us. I like belly rubs and cuddling too and would love to share life with my forever family meant to be... in a perfect relationship of humans and dogs. I am housebroken and as far as I can say... you will not be disappointed ... setting up a meet and greet with me... So to name it I am a happy dog in my foster home but still looking for a family of my own to come by and adopt me... If you feel I am the one, please use contact info to schedule a meet and greet soon. Yours with a happy tailwag! Meet Luna! She is a playful girl who LOVES her squeaker toys, tennis balls and loves to spend her time playing fetch or even taking a bath! The only family and home she ever knew had to give her up when they were evicted and Luna was devastated. She is now exploring the world and learning to trust very well but would prefer to find that special someone who will never give her up and she can just be a homebody:-) A little patience may be required as she adjusts to a new environment but she is well worth it! Please no kids, a yard is preferable. If you are interested in Luna, please complete the on-line application as she does not always attend the weekly adoption event on Saturdays at PETCO. Bichon Frises are very companionable and like to go everywhere with their people. Bichon Frises get along wonderfully with children and other pets. Bichon Frises need to run and play and get plenty of exercise; in addition to playing, they need to be taken on regular walks. Bichon Frises do not yap indiscriminately and they make good watchdogs.
