Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00149Gordie (male)

Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gordie is a 4 year old, 15 lb poodle/bichon mix rescued from a shelter where he was set to be euthanized. He is a little timid upon meeting new people, but warms quickly and is a lap dog in the truest sense of the term. He has adjusted in his foster home to many other dogs, and while he may not necessarily play with them, he adjusted to being around and sleeping with them. He isn't the biggest fan of cats (he barks and chases them, but if the cat stands their ground, he backs down). Also, he has a supposed bite history according to the shelter, so he'd be best in a home with no little kids and an experienced dog owner. His foster dad can ... (Read More)attest that he has tried to do many things that might cause a dog to get aggressive (including bathing, grooming, grabbing his face and paws, picking him up, taking his food away while eating, etc.), but Gordie has shown no aggression towards people. He's great on a leash, loves to sleep with you, and is housetrained! Is Gordie just the guy you have been looking for? Submit an application at (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-03-00348Cubby Bear (male)

Bichon Frise    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cubby Bear is an 11 year old, 19 lb Male Bichon. He is UTD on vaccines but not neutered (Which we will have done). He is very very friendly & good with kids & other dogs. He is very affectionate and get's attached to people very quickly. His owner has had him since puppyhood and is being forced to give him up as her apartment she has lived in for over 10 years is going pet free and her new neighbors have put in a complaint saying they want the dog out by August 15th. She is a widow with mounting medical bills to pay from her husband's long illness that makes it financially impossible for her to move anywhere else. Cubby is healthy, but ... (Read More)can get occasional ear infections & recently had hurt his neck, but it is almost healed after being on Rymadil for 2 weeks. He can now go down steps just fine, but is just starting to go up them, so a home without a lot of steps would be a good fit. He has a very slight heart murmur that he has always had and does not bother him at all. Cubby may need to wear a belly band inside as he sometimes will lift his leg if not taken out often enough. (We can supply you with some of these till he is used to your routine) We will also pay to have him neutered and teeth cleaned at our Vet in West Caldwell for anyone that adopts him. If you can open your heart & home to this wondeful loving little boy, you will be rewarded with years of love and puppy kisses! Please fill out our application at this link: (Less)

Bichon Frise    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Monty is an 11 year old male Bichon. He is very sweet and friendly. He is a calm dog and loves to cuddle and hang out with you. He is also fine with being left alone for short periods of time when confined to say a kitchen or other gated room. He is UTD on vaccines, and vet checked this month. He is healthy but does have some manageable medical conditions that are well controlled with diet and medication. He is diabetic and has been for years. He get's 2 insulin shots per day (one after each meal) Monty also has some allergies to pollen and some other things that make him lick his paws. He gets a shot once every 6 weeks from his ... (Read More)Dermatology Vet which the info for can be given to your vet for continued treatment which has worked really well for this. He also takes some special supplements that keep him healthy. Monty's owner has now retired and is on a fixed income that is forcing him to move to a smaller apartment he can afford. He has also not able to afford to care for Monty any longer and wants Monty to have a loving home to live out the rest of his years. Monty has a lot of good years left in him and deserves someone to love him for the rest of his life. Remember... Bichons can live 15-18 years so this little boy has lots of years of love left to give. If you are interested in adopting Monty please fill out an application at this link: Please be as Detailed as possible in your answers and at the bottom of the form in the boxes where you can write us a little more about yourself.
