Rescue Me ID: 15-05-26-00130STAR (female)

Bichon Frise    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Star is a healthy, energetic, 13 year old sweet girl that loves to play, be petted and can even do some tricks (sit, shake, roll over). She is up to date on shots, vet checked this year and has many good years left to give some lucky person! She is good with kids. She has never been exposed to other dogs or cats so not sure how she is with them but we can test her with meeting your dog if you are a candidate. Her only issue is that she was hardly ever walked or taken outside for potty and her elderly owner trained her to go inside on wee wee pads while she was away during the day. She would only be allowed to go outside at night when she ... (Read More)came home. With more frequent outside potty breaks, I am sure that Star can be trained to go outside, and you can also keep a wee wee pad inside just in case or put a dispoable diaper on her when you our not home for longer periods of time. Star's owner is moving out of state to a senior home and can't take her with her. Rescue / Rehoming is her only hope! They do not want to put her down as she is very healthy and still loves to play and run around and is very very sweet but they will not put her in a shelter if adoption does not happen by July! Please open your heart to this wonderful girl and save a life! She deserves to live out her golden years with love and companionship. If you are interetested in Star, please fill out an application at this link: (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-16-00422SHEA (male)

Bichon Frise    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Shea is a 6.5 year old male, neutered Bichon. He loves people and being petted but has some fear issues... Does not like the groomer as his previous elderly owner used to groom him herself and cut him several times really bad, so he is now petrified of the clippers and needs to be sedated to be groomed. He also is not comfortable around big dogs and shy's away or hides. We are sure how he is with smaller dogs his own size but we are willing to test him with the right dog that is not too overbearing. Also a little frightened of thunder and lightning and needs extra comfort during storms. He is not completely trained to go outside, as his ... (Read More)previous owner had him Wee Wee Pad trained (She never walked him). He has started learning to go outside now, but still goes on the wee wee pads inside as well. With time and love, he can be fully trained to go outside. (or to be safe you can just put a belly band on him inside till he get's the hang of it) Shea is still very young for a Bichon and deserves a chance at a happy life with the right family. The ideal home for Shea would be with a Retired person or couple, no young children, no other dogs or pets so he can be the apple of their eye. The ideal adopters should be dog experienced and preferably experienced with rescues or dogs that have fear issues. If you are interested in adopting Shea please fill out an application at this link: (Less)
