Rescue Me ID: 17-08-12-00288James (male)

Bichon Frise    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

James is a very sweet, affectionate and loving Male Bichon, Age 10, 20 lbs, who's elderly owner was just put into an assisted living. He is currently staying with the son's family, but their dog is not happy that James is there, so James needs a new furever home asap. James is up to date on vaccines, neutered and healthy. His only issues are that he has some allergies and some anxiety which he is on meds for and which has done wonders for him. James is great with other dogs, cats and kids, James was wee wee pad trained as his elderly owner could not walk him frequently enough so you would have to continue putting a pad down till you are ... (Read More)sure he is fully trained again to only go outside and used to your schedule. He is very very good about only going on the pad and not anywhere else. James would do great in a home with a retired person, work from home person or someone that works part time as he just loves to be with people. If you are interested in adopting James please fill out an application at this link: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html If you have already filled out an app with OUR rescue in the past, email me at nnjBichonRescue@yahoo.com and let me know you are interested and I will look up your app by your email address. Please note: you should live a reasonable driving distance from upstate NY (Rochester) where James is currently ...so anywhere within a 175-200 mile radius of Rochester would be considered. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-12-00238Fluffy (male)

Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Fluffy is an AMAZING BOY! His fosters say he is very, very smart! He loves other dogs, loves people and is a happy, active, funny little boy. He loves to play and is a bouncy and active little guy. He has been a big hit on all his walks and loves to meet friends on his way. He knows several commands and likes his crate to hang out in. He would be a great addition to almost any home, but we would prefer a home with no small children under 12. Fluffy is 11 lbs, up to date on vaccines and was just neutered and had a dental cleaning. He is currently shaved a little short as he was matted to the skin when he arrived at NY ACC. The photos show ... (Read More)him at the NYC Shelter, then 2 photos of him after my foster cut out some of the matts and then after a grooming... then the latest photos after his second grooming. He is just a GREAT GREAT BOY and a real lover that wants to be loved. His only issue is he sometimes may guard his treats and may growl if you go near them or try to take them away. There is a simple solution to this issue'|. just don't give him treats, or only give him treats that he eats right away and not treats like pig ears or dental chews that require him to chew on for hours or days at a time. He does not display any other guarding issues with food, toys, furniture or anything (only treats). This is a great boy and will be a loving companion to some lucky person or couple. If you are interested in adopting Fluffy please fill out an application at this link: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html If you have already filled out an app with OUR rescue in the past, email me at nnjBichonRescue@yahoo.com and let me know you are interested and I will look up your app by your email address. Please note: you should live a reasonable driving distance from Northern NJ/NY Area (NJ / NY / Upstate NY and CT all welcome to apply). (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-18-00419Lady (female)

Bichon Frise    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Lady is a 10 year old Bichon, up to date on vaccines, sweet and loves both adults and kids alike. She is good with other small dogs her size but can be a bit excited when first meeting them. She may bark at Large dogs. She has never been tested with cats. She loves to sleep in your room at night or in bed with you. She will follow you around everywhere. She is still rather active and playful for a 10 year old and loves to play outside. Her mom has lost her home and has run out of time trying to find an apartment that accepts pets. So she was forced to take a place where pets were not allowed in order to secure a home for her and her kids. ... (Read More)Lady is healthy with the exception that she gets hot spots which the vet has prescribed a medicated spray for when she gets them. She is house trained and will stand by the door when she wants to go out for potty. She may have an occasional accident if you do not pick up on her cues or take her out at least 3 times a day (her family used to walk her 2 times a day and let her out in the yard any other time she needed to go) If you are interested in adopting Lady or even fostering her in the hopes of adoption or till another home can be found, please fill out an application at this link: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html If you have already filled out an app with OUR rescue in the past, email me at nnjBichonRescue@yahoo.com and let me know you are interested and I will look up your app. Please note: you should live within 3 hours driving distance of NJ to adopt from our rescue.
