Rescue Me ID: 14-07-21-00675Georg (male)

Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

George is a very sweat boy. I have paperwork stating he is full blood maltese but he weighs 22 lbs so I know he has other in him. I believe Bichon. He has never had a problem with any person and actually scares me sometimes that he would go with anyone if they spoke nicely to him. He had never had an issue with any dogs unless they initiate it. He is is very friendly with dogs and the only real problem I have ever had is a neighbors yorkie that has attached him, even then he did not seem to know how to defend himself and he has never instigated it. Although he has had yearly teeth cleaning's he has very bad teeth and has lost ... (Read More)several but it does not keep him from eating dry food and many other treats. He also has been diagnosed as hypothyroid and has to take synthroid twice a day which I put in his food or a treat. The cost is only $20.00 for a 3 month supply. I have to move in to take care of a family member who is ill and they are not allowed to have pets. I do not have any family or friends who are able to take him. It breaks my heart because he is a very good boy but I have no choice. He is used to me working from home so he would do well with a like situation or with someone who is retired and can be there with him. Or another dog in the home. He does have separation anxiety and will howl if he is feeling lonely. I will post pictures soon (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-04-00255Houston and Austin (male)

Bichon Frise    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The story of Houston and Austin is becoming all too common in today's world. They were the beloved companions of a woman who is going through a divorce and consequently living in her car. She's had them since they were babies Both are now 18 months old..Houston weighs 24 lbs and Austin weighs 18 lbs. As their guardian slipped further into poverty, these pups were only sporadically fed. Our Texas rescuer was contacted in hopes of helping Houston and Austin find a forever family where they would be properly cared for and truly loved. The relative hoped that the pups would not have to go to a shelter...we couldn't have agreed more! Sad ... (Read More)goodbyes were said and the boys were on their way to be vetted, temperament tested and to a foster home to be loved and treated...but also to be reminded of appropriate home behavior. It turns out that they're crate-trained and housetrained with great temperaments. Their socialization started that day as they were introduced to their foster family of 2 older kids and 3 smaller dogs and they did great. The fact that was immediately obvious was that Houston and Austin were bonded! Their relationship was very soothing to them when they were together....when not together, they were engaging and friendly but you could see them looking off just a bit for the other. We made the immediate decision that this was a bonded pair and we needed to honor the power of their relationship. We're searching for a very loving and gentle family...it seems that a retired couple or individual would be perfect for these 2. If given the time and opportunity...Houston and Austin would be the most bonded and devoted duo anyone could imagine. They would be overjoyed with long walks with their favorite people on the Colorado trails while learning even greater socialization skills as they greet the other walkers. Since they only weigh 18 and 24 lbs they'd be great take-along companions while also being perfect for the Colorado trails and paths. They're also very easy to take along just about anywhere...they're great with other dogs as well as humans. Once they find their forever family, these 2 will have their dreams come true. They can recall a time when food was plentiful and belly rubs were the order of the day....we want that life for them again. We know that any family who is searching for lap dogs who will return their love a million times over... will fall in love with our awesome Houston and Austin. These are non-shedding pups..and considered to be the most hypoallergenic breed available. They will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep their coats cotton-soft, healthy and matt-free. Houston and Austin are being fostered in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets being set up for this bonded pair who will bring twice the love and companionship to their lucky forever family. (Less)
