Rescue Me ID: 16-07-13-00156Carla-Adoption Pending (female)

Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Carla could be that dream come true companion for a family with older kids or active retirees who love spending their time with a cottony-soft and very sweet companion. The Bichon Frise/Poodle mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Carla's story is all too common in her extremely close call to being euthanized in a scary Texas shelter. But who could ignore her adorable manner and desire to bond with anyone who might be her new best friend? Carla's engaging and sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. She is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best ... (Read More)qualities of the Bichon Frise mix. She seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her early life. At about 4.5 years old and 25 lbs (perfect hiking size), Carla is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Carla in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's very social and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Carla would also be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. She doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. Carla will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure....it can be a leisurely walk, a hike in the mountains or a visit with friends. A car ride is always fun..especially if it leads to a great spot. Carla would also be very happy to spend the afternoon just being together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Carla's gentle temperament and extremely loving ways. Carla is a non-shedding girl and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed available today. She will therefore require periodic baths/grooming and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy and soft as cotton. Carla's shelter photo is very sad and in no way does this beautiful girl justice. We've requested post-shelter photos from the home of Carla's Texas foster. We'll update just as soon as receive them. Carla will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 7/15/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and cuddly girl, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. (Less)
