Rescue Me ID: 16-12-07-00018Snow (female)

Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Snow is the pup you want to have around! Snow, at just about 8 years old (such a great age..old enough to have left babyish ways behind and young enough to have many, many active years ahead) and 11 lbs, is initially a bit hesitant...then the most bonded and loving girl around. Snow enjoys her time with her foster mom so much that she joins her just about everywhere...a true best friend! Snow loves people who are kind to her more than anything..she's a little lap-dog extraordinaire and derives so much joy from her time spent with gentle, dog-loving people. Snow also ... (Read More)enjoys other dogs and cats...she's just great with all beings. Snow is a kind and gentle being. . This incredibly adorable girl exudes love and loyalty...and it's catching! Snow's life to this point has been challenging but has left no visible scars on the personality of this devoted and sweet pup. Snow's foster mom had the following to say about this great dog: Snow's story is heartbreaking...she was originally turned into a shelter due to her owner moving. She was then adopted out and returned... then adopted out again in early november to the latest owner that surrendered her recently due to health issues within the family..so sad for this little girl.... Snow is fabulous with other dogs and cats. She is very good with children and very friendly with people. She is great in a house and has great manners. She is almost housebroken but may need a little work due to all the change in her life. Snow gets anxious in new settings so her new guardians will have to be aware of that and give her a bit of extra time to settle in. Snow likes to be around people as much as possible (therefore retirees or someone who works from home would be perfect). Snow loves going on walks and is very social in our neighborhood..she would love the Colorado trails. Snow is playful with other dogs but is also very mellow. She is the greatest and most loving lap dog if you let her be. No question, Snow is a love and will bring this to her new home. Snow does have some allergies that will need to be managed. She was seen by a vet and started a treatment of prednisone to get her allergies under control. She is on the second week of prednisone and will begin tapering off after that. She is also on fish oil supplement once a day and has a medicated shampoo and leave in conditioner. She has started basic sensitive stomach/allergy food called Royal Canine. The medication and supplements have helped tremendously...they're not very expensive and we would hope that this would be part of her care for the remainder of her life. Snow's bond to her people leads us to believe that she would be happiest in either a dog-loving retiree's home or with a family who enjoys spending lots of time with their furry best friend. She would blossom with the time and attention that this type of family would offer. Snow is also so portable at just 11 lbs that she is able to accompany her family just about anywhere...be it under the seat on a plane or riding shotgun in the car... Snow is ready and willing. She is a welcome guest in every situation...when comfortable, her joy starts with her little wagging tail and works its way to the smile on her cuter-than-cute face. Watch out - before you know it, she's crept into your lap and snuggled up to spend time together. Say the word walk ...or simply play together...and Snow is all over it. Off she'll go in anticipation of not only an adventure, but an interaction with loving humans and friendly dogs. Snow has an amazing attitude for a dog from a scary shelter... and it was her great temperament that saved this sweet pup's life. Snow is a non-shedding girl whose breed mix is considered one of the best for those who suffer from allergies Snow will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her beautiful and cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Snow will join Farfel's Rescue in mid-December. Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Poodle/Bichon mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their great intelligence, devoted temperaments and very loving ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and generally very kind and playful with family members and other dogs. Sebastian is a guy who is learning about the ways of the world. He loves his long walks with his foster and is so personable...he's just a very engaging and cuddly guy! At any time a fun adventure is the order of the day - count Sebastian in! Poodles are known to engage joyfully and energetically.. ... (Read More)and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines. Sebastian is a cute as can be.. and a very sweet guy who favors the look and loyalty of the Bichon while taking on the very intelligent and engaging qualities of the Poodle. Sebastian is a non-shedding guy...both the Poodle and Bichon breeds are considered to be two of the most hypoallergenic available today. Sebastian will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (salmon oil would be a great supplement) to keep his coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. Sebastian's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes close playmates everywhere he goes. Sebastian is friendly (while perhaps initially shy) and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a close companion. You know when a loved one approaches, Sebastian's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Sebastian goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion. Sebastian is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of his breed mix. At about 5 years old and 15 lbs, Sebastian seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. He has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Sebastian in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he'd love to be involved and would thrive in a forever home that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. Sebastian would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young dog. He would also shine in a family setting with older dog-loving kids. Sebastian would be overjoyed to accompany his favorite people to the park, walking beautiful Colorado trails and even riding shotgun running errands. Sebastian doesn't require another dog to be happy.(as long as he gets both physical exercise and mental stimulation from his people). He does, however, enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. Sebastian will arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 12/2/16. If interested in this very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)
